Biography

I joined the Human Toxicology program in 2010. The reason why I joined this program is because of its interdisciplinary nature. Having an undergraduate degree in pharmacy has helped me understand the different ways in which drugs function inside the body. Since pollution is one of the biggest problems that the world is facing now, I became keen in knowing more about the course of these environmental pollutants in the human body.

Research Description: My program research work is to understand and study the binding properties of Polychlorinated Biphenyls with Cytochrome P450 enzymes and to determine if the binding and metabolism of PCB atropisomers by the P450 enzymes is enantioselective.

Thesis TitleSpectral binding of multiple ortho substituted polychlorinated biphenyls and their 5-hydroxy metabolites to microsomal cytochrome P450 enzymes (full-text)
