Nafis MD Irfan
I received my BS and MS in Nutrition and Food Science from Institute of Nutrition and Food Science (INFS), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. My MS dissertation was focused on “In Vitro Antioxidant Activity and Total Phenol Content of Selected Commonly Consumed Vegetables in Different Solvent Extracts”. I started my academic career as a Lecturer in INFS, University of Dhaka and have been meticulously involved in mentoring and research since May 2016. My research interest lies in the field of food functionality, public health, food safety and toxicology.
I am enthralled to join human toxicology doctoral program at University of Iowa. I firmly believe that the interdisciplinary nature of the program, diverse stellar faculties, state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and cutting-edge instruments will enable me to be a next generation toxicologist.
I love playing sports, traveling, tasting various foods, cuisines and knowing people from different cultures and countries.
