Kendra Lee

Biography

My name is Kendra Lee and I am originally from Wisconsin and completed my bachelor’s degree in biology from Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago. Throughout my time at Roosevelt, I participated in an independent research project on the effect of the chemical cue, HET, on the grazing rate of a microzooplankton, O.marina. I also participated in a fellowship where I worked on a cancer research project studying the effects of extracellular matrix composition on metastatic breast cancer. I have always been passionate about the environment and helping to preserve human life and the Human Toxicology Program here at Iowa combines both of these interests perfectly.

During my time at Iowa, I hope to be able to explore human toxicology either through cancer research or through the Iowa Superfund Research Program. I hope to use the tools that I gain at the University of Iowa to become an influential teacher as well as researcher in the field of toxicology. When I’m not in the lab or classroom, I enjoy playing volleyball, hiking, drawing, and reading.
