Brianna Haase

Biography

My name is Brianna Haase and I graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Louisville in the spring of 2021. There I was a part of the University of Louisville cheerleading team and a hiking club called Expedition Cards. My research during my undergraduate career was with Dr. Jinjun Liu investigating small molecules using high-resolution laser systems, specifically, CH4

I then joined Eastern Illinois University in the fall of 2021 to obtain my M.S. in Biochemistry. During my graduate career, I was a secretary for the American Chemistry Society-Student Affiliates, a chemistry representative for the Graduate School Advisory Council, and a teaching assistant for undergraduate chemistry labs. My research during my graduate studies was with Dr. Steven Pellizzeri investigating CH4 activation on modified metalloporphyrin graphene sheets. Throughout my time at EIU, I presented my work at national conferences, won various grants and awards, including Best Graduate Seminar of the year, and submitted a paper for publication to ChemCatChem.
