Ally Sprague
My name is Ally Sprague and I graduated from Lindenwood University with my B.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry as well as my B.A. in Mathematics in 2026. During my undergraduate studies, I did carbohydrate chemistry research focusing on developing a good leaving group for glycosylation reactions. As well, through a toxicology internship, I performed mobile air monitoring efforts in various parts of Texas as well as a collaborative project examining the effect of diet & vinyl chloride exposure on copper isotope ratios in the liver. This internship gave me the ability to attend SOT twice during my undergraduate studies which led me to enjoying toxicology for the science as well as the community.
I was drawn to the University of Iowa's program due to the broad range of research topics, facilities on campus, and collaborative nature within the program. As well, I was drawn to the University of Iowa's Superfund program as I believe it is a crucial program & enables real connection to the community that science aims to serve.
Outside of science, I enjoy all things baking & cooking, crocheting, hiking & lifting, and a lot of reading
