Dane Lew
My name is Dane Lew, I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a B.A. in Biochemistry. Following my education, I spent two years in the EPA’s Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division researching PFAS metabolism predominantly in rainbow trout. My time in the lab, presenting research, and collaborating with other scientists while at the EPA enhanced my passion for research, especially in the field of toxicology.
The University of Iowa’s Human Toxicology Program attracted me with the work being done on PCBs as part of the Iowa Superfund Research Program, and how different projects within the program collaborate with each other to achieve research goals. I am very excited about the interdisciplinary nature of the program and the opportunity to learn from individuals at the top of their respective fields. I look forward to being able to better understand the many branches of toxicology and utilize that knowledge in my research while in school and in my future career.
In my free time, I enjoy watching and playing sports, hiking, seeing movies, playing video games, and painting.
