Summer Undergraduate Program

Traditionally toxicology programs participate in Undergraduate Research Experiences. These tend to be supported by supplemental funding to training grants or research grants, and are usually earmarked for underrepresented (gender or racial) minorities in the sciences. Often they are designed to bring in promising undergraduate students, during the summer months, into active research laboratories. The goal of such programs is to attract promising students into the field of toxicology, and to establish valuable contacts with their home institutions, while enhancing recruitment opportunities for the graduate program. These programs are under development.
