Pintu Miah

Biography

My name is Pintu Miah, hailing from Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I embarked on my journey into the field of pharmaceutical sciences. I graduated from North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh with bachelor’s in pharmaceutical sciences back in 2019. While pursuing my Bachelor's, I delved into various research projects centered around obesity, metabolic syndrome, and oxidative stress in rat models. The culmination of these endeavors resulted in the publication of several research papers in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Research, Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy.

Driven by a passion for innovation and a thirst for knowledge, I transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry, where I honed my skills in research and development at a prominent company in Bangladesh. Over the course of 1.5 years, I dedicated myself to developing analytical methods, utilizing techniques such as HPLC, UV, and IR, for pharmaceutical dosage forms.

In pursuit of further academic career, I seized the opportunity to pursue a Master's in Pharmaceutical Science at Rowan University in New Jersey, United States, started in 2022. There, I was deeply immersed in the realm of behavioral neuroscience as a research assistant at Keck’s Lab, focusing on the development of novel compounds for analgesics within mice model. In addition to my research pursuits, I worked as a teaching assistant (TA) at the department of Biological Sciences where my responsibility was to conduct weekly laboratory experiments for courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology-II, as well as General Biology with a human focus.

On a personal level, I consider myself friendly and enjoy discovering new places and meeting different people. I'm quite active and love playing volleyball, cricket, and soccer. Cooking is another one of my passions; whenever I have free time, I like to try my hand at making tasty Bengali dishes.

My journey thus far has been defined by a commitment to excellence, a relentless pursuit of  scientific inquiry, and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of scientific research and education.
