Biography

I completed my undergraduate study on Nutrition and Food Science from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I had the opportunity to partly use my undergraduate knowledge and gain even more when I worked in a hospital in Dhaka as internship trainee in department of nutrition. I also worked on a nutritional assessment survey, where we investigated relationship of lifestyles and food habits with health and diseases of both poor and rich people in slum and developed areas of Dhaka City. My experience explored the fact that human diseases are dependent not only on nutrition and food, but also on environmental pollution. So, I believe that with my knowledge of nutritional science, the study of human toxicology and its relevant research will open a door for me to be a part of scientific work that ensures sound health and a safe environment.

I chose the Human Toxicology interdisciplinary program to pursue my M.S. study because of its wide range of focus related to human and environmental health. After completing my M.S. in human toxicology, I want to go back to my home country to be a part of the on-going effort by our government and many national and international organizations to improve human and environmental health.
