Dr. Larry Robertson, Director of the University of Iowa Human Toxicology Program, provided information on the antimicrobial Triclosan for the online news site Quartz. Triclosan has been banned by the FDA in hand soaps and body washes for over a year. Yet it is still included in many consumer products including toothpastes.

In a statement published June 20, 2017 two hundred doctors and scientists argued Triclosan does more harm than good and should not be included in consumer products that are used on a daily basis.
